What are your hours?

Tuesday after Labor Day to February 29th - 9am to 5pm
March 1st to Labor Day - 8am to 6pm

The Caverns of Sonora is open daily year round, and is only closed on Christmas Day.

How long does a tour last?

1-2 hours depending on the tour chosen. The Crystal Palace tour is about 1 hour and 45 minutes, whereas the Horseshoe Lake tour is about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Can I bring my camera?

Yes, cameras are allowed. We want you take all the pictures you want of our hidden Texas gem! However, camera bags, purses and other personal items are not permitted inside the caves.

What should I wear?

Cave Temperature- 72F/22C and 98% humidity (feels like 85F/29C). We are a WARM cave. No need for sweaters or jackets!

There are approximately 360 stair steps, we recommend wearing a comfortable walking shoe.

Are the caves pet friendly?

Due to the sensitive nature of this cave, animals are not allowed into the cave system but we do provide free, onsite kennels.
